David Oyelowo is a Nigerian-English actor and producer. He has played roles in films including Rise of the Planet of the Apes, A Most Violent Year, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Selma and Queen of Katwe. In 2016 he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for services to drama after being named in the New Year Honours list.
